  2. The Group - background • Fhiannan – Been taking apart computers since I was five, and programming for the last 3 years. Computers are what I do, all the time. • William – CompScience course, Electronics course • Michael – Contract work for B.T and have CCNA qualification • Sohail – Studied HNC software development and got a cisco I.T essentials certificate

  3. The Group - Communications The group will communicate primarily with student email, with text messaging for short term instant comms. • Main comms • Student Email • Text messaging

  4. The Group - Goals • The group will aim for a high standard of work • The group will aim to complete their work on time • The group will aim to set a realistic timeline that balances quality with deadlines

  5. Group Meetings - Timings Time has been allocated on Tuesdays for the group-project work. We have opted to take the first tutorial slot so that we can fit time into the university schedule • 2hrs each wk • 12-2pm • Tuesday

  6. Group Meetings - Location The group will initially meet in the Library, and then move to labs when allocation time arrives • Library • Labs

  7. Group Meetings The group will handle group-work meetings in the following way: A first meeting will be held to discuss the group-work, and normal meetings will be held after • Initial meeting • Normal meetings

  8. Group Meetings – Initial Meeting The Initial meeting will discuss the group-work, and cover what is expected. An outline of the work that is needed to complete the project will be drawn up, and will then be divided between the members, based on desire, and the needs of the work, whether it requires collaboration or not • Initial Meeting • Discuss group-work • Draw up work outline • Assign work tasks • Agree work timeline

Group Meeting – Normal Meeting A normal meeting will have a short session at the beginning, where the members will discuss the work timeline, any problems they are having, and do a short work review of completed work, to insure the other members understand what they’ve completed • Normal Meeting • Short group meeting • Discuss problems • Discuss work • Work review

  10. Group Motivation The group will review the members work at the start of each meeting, and will discuss any issues that arise. The group will operate a 3 strikes policy. A strike will be not attending a meeting without giving notice, or not meeting a timeline target. Getting a strike will mean that the group will discuss it in the next review session, and try and work-out a solution. • Review sessions • 3 strikes
