  1. Reliquaries What is Reliquary? A reliquary is a container for relics. These may be the physical remains of saints, such as bones, pieces of clothing or other objects associated with religious figures. Traditional reliquaries were often body parts carved out of wood and the relics inside were authentic body parts that related to the container. Relics have been an important part of worship to Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and many other religions.
