Endless rebellion against God, from King Jeroboam to the Assyrian captivity God repeatedly sent His servants the prophets to call her to repentance – to return to Him, Hos 6:1; Zech 7:8-14 Isaiah 6: Israel’s refusal to hear and heed God’s word a warning for us to return to the Lord and remain with Him Israel:The Rebellious Northern Kingdom

The glory of God compels us, Rev 4 • His holiness, Lev 11:44-45; 19:2; 1 Pet 1:13-16; Heb 12:14 • His powerful presence (Acts 14:15-17) • Reverence: Dread displeasing Him, Job 28:28 • God’s nature and work, Psa 111:7-9 • Beginning of wisdom, Psa 111:10 • Protection against sin, Psa 36:1; Matt 10:28 • Incentive for obedient living, Eccl 12:13 Return to Fearing God, Isaiah 6:1-4

It is deadly to refuse to identify and confess our sins, Isa 5:20-25 • Return to the Lord with all your hearts, 1 Sam 7:3; Jer 3:1, 6-7, 10-14, 22; 4:1 • Repent and do the first works, Rev 2:4-5 • Stubborn refusal to return to God, Jer 5:3 • Accept the chastening of the Lord, Heb 12:5-7 • Humble hearts, Jas 4:6-10 Return to Knowing and Confessing our Sins, Isaiah 6:5

God’s mercy by forsaking sin, Hos 14:1-4 • Forsake, repent, be converted, Isa 55:6-7; Acts 26:20 • Acknowledge and rejoice, Psa 32:5, 10-11 • In order to rejoice in your salvation: • Accept that you have sinned against God (Lk 15:18) • Understand what your sin does to you (Rom 6:23) • Confess your sin to God and those you sin against (1 Jno 1:9; Jas 5:16) • Repent of your sins (Lk 13:3) • Bear different fruit, Acts 26:20 (Rev 2:5) Return to the Joy of Forgiveness, Isaiah 6:6-7

God’s people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge (of God’s word), Hos 4:6; Mal 3:7 • God’s word is our source of truth, guidance and salvation, Isa 8:19-20 (Rom 1:16) • God’s word assures judgment against sinners, Isa 6:11-12 (5:13-16; Jer 18:11; 30:24). Rom 2:1-4 • God’s word assures reward of the righteous, Isa 6:13 (10:21) Return to Book-Chapter-Verse Preaching and Living, Isaiah 6:8-10

  7. Do not think that you cannot fall away from God, Hebrews 3:7-8, 12-13 If you have fallen, return to the Lord now, Hosea 6:1 Will We Have Ears That Hear And Eyes That See?
