Maths and English 2000 teachers recruited to maths GCSE enhancement programme £2.8m incentive payments allocated to organisations to recruit maths teachers Over 80 expressions of interest to pilot the English GCSE enhancement programme (national roll out Autumn 2014) Promoting FE teaching careers, though FE Advice, and Marketing Toolkit in use by Initial Teacher Training providers

  5. Leadership, Governance and Management Hundreds of students, staff and governors participating in the Leadership Conversation and Leadership Register Pilot Management Training and Development Programme Governance, and building boards for the future Pan equalities approach for the FE sector

Vocational Education and Training Over 30 colleges and training providers accessing Apprenticeships and Traineeships support prospectus Case studies published in partnership with Ofsted, over 600 views CPD Programme to support excellence in Skills Competitions A framework for Teach Too (coming soon)

  7. Apprenticeships Staff Support Programme AELP (with AoC, Holex, 157 Group, NIACE and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce). Delivered through a range of provider-led projects, focused on two broad themes: • developing relationships with employers to secure the range and quality of apprenticeship opportunities; • further developing vocational teaching, learning and assessment, and curriculum development capacity, with a focus on approaches to embedding English and maths, and building on the vocational pedagogy findings from the CAVTL report.

  8. Traineeships Staff Support Programme With AELP (with AoC, Holex, NIACE, 157 Group and Spirit Pub Co) Based on 14 provider-led projects. The four key priorities for the programme are: • supporting the delivery of English, maths and employability skills; • developing effective work placements; • initial assessment and IAG and; • strategies for working with vulnerable learners.
