  3. Sound Devices • Here are three common sound devices: • Onomatopoeia • Alliteration • Repetition

  4. Onomatopoeia • The use of words whose sounds suggest their meanings. Grrrrrrrrrrr! Bang! Crash!

  5. Alliteration • maggie and milly and molly and may (repetition of the m sound) • Tongue Twisters! • She sells seashells by the seashore… • Peter Piper picked a pail of pickled peppers…

  6. Repetition • To the swinging and the ringing of the bells, bells, bells, of the bells, bells, bells.

  7. Connecting to Literature In a few sentences, describe the things that make you unique. Try to use some of the following words: -attitude -contribute -dedicate -embody -react
