Herd Farm • Hidden away just seven miles north of Leeds centre, yet set in 16 acres of tranquil countryside, Herd Farm Residential & Activity Centre offers up to 50 guests (potential to increase to 62 beds in a made up room), if residential, staying in nine bedrooms a range of experiences depending on their choice of stay. Herd Farm is a former working farm with no kept animals, yet sharing the site with an abundance of wildlife. When hiring our converted barn, sole use permits guests to experience original features from the 16th century origins blending in sympathetically with 21st century standards such as underfloor heating,

  4. Wednesday 7th February • Arrive at school at normal time 8.50am • Come dressed for outside activities • A rucksack with hat, gloves, scarf and waterproofs • Bring a disposable packed lunch

  5. Wednesday 7th February • 9.30am – Leave school • 10.00am - A local visit - TBC • 1.00pm – Arrive at Herd Farm - Safety talk • 2.00pm – Activity session 1 • 4.00pm – Unpack and bed making • 5.30pm – Evening meal • 6.30pm – Evening activities – Evening walk • 9.00pm – Bedtime

  6. Thursday 8th February • 8.00am – Get up • 8.30am – Breakfast • 10.00am – Activity session 2 • 12.30pm – Lunch • 2.00pm – Activity session 3 • 5.30pm - Evening meal • 6.30pm- Evening activities – Campfire/Puzzle Palace • 9.00pm - Bedtime

  7. Friday 9th February • 8.00am – Get up • 8.30am – Breakfast and pack • 10.00am – Activity session 4 • 12.30pm – Lunch • 2.00pm – Leave Herd Farm • 2.30pm – Arrive back at school

Kit List • 1 small suitcase/holdall and one rucksack • Warm outdoor clothes and strong shoes / wellies • Indoor clothes and shoes • Pyjamas/dressing gown/onesie • Towel (x2) and toiletries • Bin bags • Everything named • Herd Farm have a limited supply of waterproofs and wellingtons Help children pack their own case.

  10. Medical • All medications to be handed in on the morning of the visit. Please fill in the form providing instructions. • Prescribed medications need the pharmacy guidance included. Please include instructions with other medications, including inhalers • Children will not carry their medication. • We can and will cater to all requirements and requests.

  11. Cost • 44 children at £55 per child, per night over two nights = £2420 • Three extra members of staff (6 in total) at £55 per person, per night over two nights = £165 • Housekeeping charge = £200 • A 49 seater coach at £600 • The visit will be subsidised by using the Sport Premium Fund • -£925to be subsidised. • TOTAL COST of the visit = £2460 • £2460 divided by 44 children = £56
