  2. What is the CAC? • Public input for the transportation planning process • Created by Comprehensive Agreement • Advisors to the Policy Committee • Must include non-government organizations representing those traditionally underserved by transportation systems

  4. Purpose and Need • Together, we are smarter than any individual among us • Multiple perspectives leads to better decisions • Informed consent • Federal requirement • “…reasonable opportunity to comment…” • Participation Plan

  5. Why? • History • Arrogance • Bad Planning • “Move Cars” • Not “Improve Lives”

Operations • Prospective members • Must attend 4 meetings and apply • PC makes final decision • Current members • Must attend at least 50% of meeting per year • Chair and Vice-Chair elected annually • Chair sets the agenda, conducts meetings, transmits CAC views to the PC • Vice-Chair presides in absence of Chair • MPO staff are not members
