Initiatives for 2004-2005 • Club has very aggressive goals for the next academic year • Participation is key • We need everyone in the Tepper community (MBA, MSQE, and MSCF) to participate to make our efforts successful • Cultural and professional development • Expand on the cultural aspects within the club and in the Tepper community • Assist with member’s professional development as well 7

  8. Key Initiatives (General) • Membership • Increase paid membership from 36 to 50 • Website • Create a revamped website for intranet and internet • APAC Ambassador Program • Learn, implement, and document best known methods for student outreach in Asia 8

Key Initiatives (Cultural) • Movie Nights • Coordinate movie nights with other clubs to learn about different cultures (LABC, CBA, etc) • Country Presentations • Present various facts about each member’s country emphasizing how to conduct business there • Coordinate country presentations with other clubs to learn about different cultures • Winter Trip to China • Work with CBA to make the trip a success • Social and Cultural Events • Karaoke Nights • Chinese New Year • Dinners 9

Key Initiatives (Professional) • Career Mentoring • Match up first years with second years to help critique resumes and cover letters • Asia Business Conference • Attend the Asia Business Conference at the Harvard Business School in Feb. 2005 • Speaker • Bring in at least one guest speaker per semester to share insights about doing business in Asia coordinate with CBA • Alumni/Networking • Establish business contacts for APAC region 11

  12. Mentoring Program • Please email jchsu@andrew.cmu.edu if you are interested in being a mentor or mentee and what areas of study you are interested in 12

  13. Dues • For returning second years, dues are $10 • For new members, dues are $20 • Checks should be payable to Carnegie Mellon University with Memo “ABA” • Please drop off checks in Daisy Sun’s mailbox by 9/16/2004 13

  14. Volunteers • We need one 1st year volunteer to help James Hsu with the mentor program • We need one 1st year who is web savvy/artistically inclined to assist in website development 14

  15. Volunteers • If you will be returning to Asia this winter break, we would like to request you volunteer as an ambassador to help recruit new students for the coming year • Network with local alumni to sponsor a panel 15
