Volcanoes Different types Spit out fire Shoot clouds of smoke Explode Cone shaped; erupt with a bang Low and wide; erupt gently Some erupt violently Mauna Loa is the largest How Volcanoes Erupt Craters Melted rock bursts from a hole in the ground Very destructive The hole at the top of the volcano Some fill with water and create lakes Some become dry, grassy plains How many times do volcanoes erupt per year? Where in the world are there the most volcanoes?

  13. Summary In the book, Eruption, I read all about volcanoes. I learned that there are many different types of volcanoes. Some volcanoes are cone-shaped, but others are low and wide. The various types of volcanoes erupt in different ways. The cone-shaped ones erupt with a bang, the low and wide ones erupt gently, and there are others that erupt violently. Mauna Loa is the largest volcano in the world. After volcanoes erupt, they leave a hole called a crater. The craters sometimes fill with water and become lakes, but some craters become dry and grassy plains. I enjoyed reading all about volcanoes. I hope that someday I’ll have the opportunity to visit one in real life.
