ProcedureofMass Manipulation • Every kind of mass manipulation has a delivery system:  one layer, one lie, leads to another and another • There are various methods to brainwash people: - excessive repetition of routine activities - deprivation - intense trauma (sexual abuse, electroshock, the torture or murder of others) - mind control (to dominate almost every aspect of life)  increasing control over individuals + stability  shaping of a person's attitudes, beliefs, and personality without the person's knowledge or consent. • Brainwashing, also known as thought reform or re-education, is the application of persuasive techniques to change the beliefs or behavior of one or more people usually for political or religious purposes

Everyone had to obey Nazi decision-making. • Use of terror and manipulation of public opinion to keep up stability in Third Reich in form of Nazi propaganda such as paroles, placards, speeches Religion • Sects: e.g. Scientology • members get brainwashed • persuasive techniques change beliefs or behavior of people • a new personality is formed to achieve mental sanity
