DEFINITION • An embedded operating system is a system for embedded computer systems • These operating systems are designed to be compact, efficient, and reliable, forsaking many functions that non-embedded computer operating systems provide • Unlike a desktop operating system, the embedded operating system does not load and execute applications • This means that the system is only able to run a single application.

  15. CONS • App store approval process rejects apps for no clear reason • Horrible notification system • No option to choose different hardware (or Carrier in US) • You must use iTunes to sync files • No Adobe Flash in the browser

  44. CONS • Terribly Slow • Easily Effected by a virus • Some java apps may not work at all • Some heavy games like Need for Speed takes a tremendous time to load (Aprox 3-4mins). Once loaded everything works fine.
