Initial results from follow-up interviews with youth: • 71% of youth reported they now have basic social skills and use them often. • Learned how to control my anger. • Learned how to treat people. • Learned to think before I act. • Learned to make positive choices.

ARISE Motivational Interviewing • Since 2009 ARISE has integrated MI principles into its training programs. • What is MI? • Evidence-based facilitation style designed to elicit individual solutions and responsibility for changing behaviors and maintaining the change long-term. • MI principles—empathy, understanding ambivalence, rolling with resistance and supporting self-efficacy.
