  2. What is Monroe Technology Center?Home of the Loudoun Governor’s Career and Technical Academy • We serve as one of Loudoun County Public Schools elective program options to all 12 high schools • Students come to MTC every other day

How does MTC work • Students come to MTC every other day on either A or B day • First year programs typically on a B day • Second year programs offered on an A day • Arrival at 9:25 students • Break at 10:00-10:30 AM • Lunch Served in the cafeteria between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. • Break at 1:30-2:00 PM • Dismissal at 3:10 • Return to Home School by LCPS Bus Transportation

FAQ’s • When can you come to MTC? -Apply as a Sophomore after 1st semester grades are posted, attend MTC as a Junior or a Senior - Introduction to Health and Medical Sciences students may apply as a freshman, which opens availability into other Health Science pathway areas to include: Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Pharmacology, and Radiology • Is transportation provided? -Yes from high school • How many HS credits do you earn? Plus! -3 elective credits -Dual Enrolled courses offer .5 weighting, a minimum college credits -Industry Credentials available and recognized in the workplace include: (A+, N+, CISCO, ProStart, Cosmetology Board of Licensing, Welding , HVAC, NCCER, ASE Recognition, OSHA Safety, Board of Nursing) • Can I play a sport or be involved in extra curricular activities at high school? -Yes

  7. Important Dates • Open House -February 10, 2010 • Middle School Career Camp for rising 6, 7, and 8 graders -June 21-25, 2010 (Look for information in March through Guidance or Parent Liaisons)
