  1. Card Tricks Arranged By Liam Saliba Source – Mismag822

  2. How to use this Powerpoint • What you need – top left corner • Minimum Spectators – top right corner • Red font – preparation • Blue font – link • Green font – after trick • Purple – meaning in brackets earlier…

  3. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards 4Q2 • Set up cards as Si Stebbins Stack • Ask spectator to tell you to stop whilst flicking through the cards. Tell them these will be their 2 cards. • Stop, give the spectator the 2 cards where you stopped. Cut the deck from that spot. • Tell them you will ask the deck 4 questions and you will find out what card they have. • From the top of the deck count off the word “color” and put them down, face down. DO NOT count them straight onto the table, keep the stack in order. Flip another card face up. This shows the colour of one of the cards.

  4. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards 4Q2 • Repeat step 5, replacing “color” with “number” for the number of the same card. This means you know the colour and number of your spectator’s cards • Redo step 5 again, replacing “color with “answer” (or “hearts” if red, “spades” if black). This tells you the suit of their card. So you know the number and suit of their card. But just to be sure… • Do step 5 one more time, considering you have 1 question left, but this time replace “color” with “match” to find out this card’s soul mate. E.g. Ace of Clubs and Ace of Spades. • Ask your spectator to turn over the card you’ve revealed.

  5. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards 4Q2 • Say to them “I’ve used my 4 questions!” Then to find their second card, flip over the cards from color to match and tell them their card as you flip the cards. • Pack up by: • Put the cards of the spectator on the bottom of the deck (in the same order of the Si Stebbins Stack) • Flip the decks of the cards you used to find the spectators cards, put the face up cards on the bottom of the same deck face down. • Put the cards back on the deck as follows: match, answer, number, color.

  6. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards • Some sticky tape What’s Up? • Fold the sticky tape so it works like double-sided tape and place it in your left hand • Ask the spectator to pick a card, have a look and put it anywhere in the deck. • Get their card back to the top of the deck via pinkie break or false cuts... • With out them looking, slide the tape onto their card and hid the deck from view. • Throw the deck onto the ceiling and their card will be stuck. Ask if this is their card.

  7. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards Spell that Card • Take a look at the card on the bottom of a deck. (e.g. 2 of Hearts) • Ask the spectator to pick a cardand have a look. • Split the deck into 4 to 8 piles. Ask your spectator to put their card onto any pile. If they put their card on the deck with the 2 of hearts then cut that deck. • Stack the decks up so the 2 of Hearts is on top of their card. • From the top of the deck, (count in your head) count off 5 cards face up (1 down, next down…) and move onto a new pile. • Count off like step 6, but as soon as you see the 2 of Hearts stop. The next card will be theirs. Remember it. Count off 10 more cards.

  8. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards Spell that Card • Doing the same as step 5, make a new pile and spell out their card (in your head) e.g. a, c, e, o, f, s, p, a, d, e, s. • Finish off the deck like step 5, varying in size. • Stack the deck up as follows: the spelled out deck, the deck with the spectator’s cards and the rest. • Cut to a random card and ask if this is their card. Of course it isn’t! Put the cards back in the same order. • Ask to take a look at their hand. Make it look like you are reading the lines. Announce their card and spell out the card to prove it. • After spelling out their card, flip the next card. There it is!!!

  9. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards Slap the hand • Ask a spectator to pick a card, take a look and put it anywhere in the deck. • Use a pinkie break or false cuts etc. to get their card back to the top. • Slide the top and the bottom card to the bottom of the deck. Repeat this 4 times. Then slide the top and bottom card to the top of the deck. • Show the spectator the bottom of the deck. Ask “is this your card?” it isn’t, so put the bottom card on the table and the next on the top.

  10. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards Slap the hand • Repeat step 4, but this time, using a pinky break, put the second card on the table and the bottom on the top. Their card is now on the table. • Repeat step 4 one more time. • Mix up the 3 cards on the table so that their card is on the left of the 3 cards. • Ask them to hold the cards in their hand like this • Slap the cards leaving their card left in their hand. • Reveal their card by asking or whatever…

  11. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards Match? • Count off 9 cards. • Ask your spectator to pick a card, have a look and put it on top of the 9 cards. Don’t look. • Put those cards on the bottom of the deck. • Explain to your spectator that you are going to count from 10 to 1 and if you see a match (e.g. saying 3 and you put down a 3) you will move onto a new pile. Picture cards are 10. If there is no match put a card face down on top. • Do step 4, 4 times. • Add up all the face up numbers. This shows how many cards down it is. Count down the cards and reveal their card.

  12. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards • Paper • Pen The Final 3 • Ask your spectator to pick 3 cards and write them down. • Deal out 4 piles. The 1st pile with 10 cards, the 2nd and 3rd pile with 15 cards and the last with the remaining 9 cards. • Ask your spectator to put one of their cards on the 1st deck and cut the 2nd deck onto the 1st. • Put the 2nd card on the 2nd deck and cut the 3rd onto the 2nd. • Put the final card on the 3rd deck and put the last deck onto the 3rd. • Stack the 3rd deck onto the 2nd deck onto the 1st. • Take 4 cards from the top and put them on the bottom.

  13. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards • Paper • Pen The Final 3 • Tell your spectator that you will deal out cards and if they see one of theirs, to tell you. • Deal out the cards face-up, face-down into separate piles. Make sure you deal face-up first. • When you finish, ask if they saw their cards. (NO!!!) Get rid of the face-up cards and with the face-down cards, do step 9 again. • Repeat step 10. You will eventually be left with 3 cards… THEIRS!! • Reveal the 3 cards.

  14. Minimum 1 spectator • What You Need: • Deck of Playing Cards 4 8’s??? • Put one 8 at the top of the deck. • Make two 8s 8 and 9 spots from the bottom of the deck. • Make the last 8 10 spots from the top. • Go through the cards face down and look for the 8 10 spots from the top of the deck. Make it look random. • Make that 8 your prediction. • Put cards down face up from the bottom like this and whilst putting down cards, tell your spectator to tell you to stop wherever they wanted.
