Grade Center

This workshop provides an in-depth overview of the Grade Center in Blackboard, tailored for students and educators. Participants will learn how to log in, access their courses, and utilize the My Grades tool to review submissions, scores, and feedback. Hands-on activities will guide users through sorting and filtering grade columns, creating and managing graded columns, and understanding grading schemas. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the skills needed to effectively navigate and utilize the Grade Center for optimal academic management.

  2. Welcome • To Login to Computers • Read network terms and Press “OK” • Enter Password: star#101 • To Access Session • Login to Blackboard • Go to Student Course for Blackboard Training • Click on Virtual Classroom Link (x2) • Open play.jnlp file to launch the session

  4. Student Experience • Access the My Grades Tool or original item to review SubmissionHistory, Score and Feedback

  5. Hands-on-Activity • Access the Student Course • Select the My Grades tool • Check for grades and feedback

  6. Exploring the Grade Center • Navigate the grade center • Sort and filter grade columns • Hide Columns from students and/or yourself. • Hide rows and edit paging

  7. Hands-on-Activity • Access the Practice Course • Select the Full Grade Center • Select Action Link next to Planet Paper grade column • Hide grade column from Students

  8. Working with Columns • Understand different column types • Adjust layout of columns • Edit Column Information • Create a graded column • Create a calculated column

  9. Hands-on-Activity • Access the Practice Course • Select the Full Grade Center • Create a graded column • Name it Presentation • Make it worth 25 pts • Define category as assignment • Press Submit

  10. Working with Grades • Navigate action link menus • Review attempts and submissions • View Grade History • Interact with Needs Grading Page

  11. Hands-on-Activity • Access the Practice Course • Select the Full Grade Center • Click on action link next to Planet Paper Grade Column • Select Assignment File Download • Download Zipped File

  12. Hands-on-Activity • Access the Practice Course • Select the Full Grade Center • Click on Manage Button • Select Grading Schemas • Create Grading Schema • Edit Mapping • Press Submit
