ASPIRATIONS January 31, 2014 Dates to Remember Feb. 5- Native American Museum 10-11 am Feb. 5- Early Release at 11:45 am Feb. 7- Spirit Day/ Box Tops Due Feb. 14- Valentine’s Party 1:45 Feb. 17th- No School Feb. 21- Talent Show 6:00 pm Feb. 25- Spring Creek Night 5:00-9:00 Mrs. Ballard’s Class Objectives Math- Continue Fractions and Decimals: Comparing Fractions and Fractions on a Number Line; Representing Decimals on Grids Science- Complete Natural Patterns; Begin Weather Reading- Inferring from Text Writing- Topic Sentences Social Studies- Begin Colonies and Independence in Texas History Native American Museum February 5th the Glenhope 4thGrade will present a Native American Tribes of Texas Museum. All 4th graders researched various tribes and compiled their learning into this presentation. The other 4th grade classes created artifacts about their tribes. The ASPIRE 4th grade classroom used the same research prompts, but created documentaries to present their information. These short narratives are similar to the audio guides offered at many museums and are quite good! We hope you can make it! Valentine’s Party Our class Valentine’s Day Party is coming up. If you’re available, please mark your calendar for Friday, February 14 from 1:45-2:45. Nicole Lopez will be contacting you with more information. We’d love to have you come and celebrate with us! Also, I would like each child to bring in a baby picture for an activity during the party. Nothing larger than 5x7, and they will be returned unharmed. Please bring these in prior to Friday, Feb 7th.
