  1. 1 SEMINAR ON SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY Wear Your World created by ROCKS

  2. SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY WHAT IS SIXTH SENSE EARLIER SIXTH SENSE PROTOTYPE RECENT PROTOYPE COMPONENTS OF SITH SENSE CAMERA PROJECTOR MIRROR • MOBILE • COLOR MARKERS APPLICATIONS MAKE A CALL CALL UP A MAP CHECK THE TIME CREATE MULTIMEDIA READING EXPERIENCE

  3. TONGUE EYE NOSE DEVICE EAR BODY

  4. INTRODUCTION Sixth sense is a one type of “gesture based” device. It is developed by pranav mistry , a PhD student influid interfaces group at the MIT media lab. Sixth sense is based on camera, projector, mirror, mobile components, color markers

  5. Zoom in Zoom out Flight updates Take snap Product Info Edit pic Book and Magazine Info

  6. Conclusion • The key here is that Sixth Sense recognizes the objects around you, displaying information automatically and letting you access it in any way you want, in the simplest way possible. • In simple, it is almost like installing a digital system (computer) into our body and further making it as sixth sense of our body

  7. components There are five types of components are used in sixthsense Technology. Camera Projector Mirror Mobile Color markers .

  8. camera Camera

  9. Camera is also called as webcame. A camera captures and recognizes an object in view & tracks the user’s hand gestures using computer vision based techniques. The camera sends the data to the smart phone. The camera in a sense acts as a digital eye, seeingwhats the User sees. It also tracks the movements of the thumbs and index fingers of both of the users hand. The camera recognizes objects around you.

  10. projector Projector

  11. a projector works likes interaction and sharing with the other devices. a projector contains a battery inside with the 3 hours of battery life. the projector projects visual information enabling surfaces like walls around us to be used as interfaces. it works like real physical sense you are touching that object and projecting info onto that object. A tiny led projector displays data sent from the smart phone on any surface in view like wall.

  12. mirror Mirror

  13. the usage of the mirror is significant as the projector dangles pointing downwards from the neck.

  14. mobile

  15. the mobile devices like smartphone in our pockets transmits and receives voice and data anywhere and to anyone via the mobile internet. an smartphone runs the sixthsense software and handles the connection to the internet. this smartphone enable 3g or broadband wi-fi connection.

  16. Color markers Color markers

  17. it is at the tip of the user’s fingers. marking the user’s fingers with red, blue, green and yellow tape helps the webcame (camera) recognize gestures. the movements and arrangements of these markers are interpreted into gestures that acts as interaction instructions for the projected application interfaces.

  18. working

  19. all the devices like camera, projector, mirror, smartphone are connected with each other. first camera captures the images or pictures. then camera sends the data to the smart phone. this smartphone enabling 3g or broadband wi-fi internet. then the smartphone sends this data to the projector and projector reflects this data on mirror and then mirror reflects this data on particular surface like wall.

  20. How the color markers are connected with camera? .

  21. In camera one rfid chip are used . This rfid chip are helpful for gesture recognition of images through the color markers . .

  22. About rfid chip The full name of rfid is radio frequency identification . Rfid signals are spread upto 100 meters . In this chip sensors are connected . The cost of rfid chip is near about 100 $. (as per the c ompany) Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data , for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects.

  23. Rfid systems use radio waves at several different frequencies to transfer data . This chip recognize the Movements of color markers and capture the images From the world through the camera . .

  24. Sixthsense in A.c.

  25. a.c. Pump gas through pipes inside a radiator to release heat to the outside air , the cooled gas then returns to the inside where air is circulated from The room into the a.c. , across the cooled gas pipes , and back into the room , Thus lowering the temperature . This sixth sense seems to describe a more efficient transfer of heat along with more efficient air flow , and sensors that change the way of a.c. . Sixth sense is also use in car’s a.c. .(work is same )

  26. Sixthsense in washing machine

  27. many companies are use sixthsense technology in Washing machine . (like : - whirlpool) Model number is whirlpool awoe 8758 lauch in 2009 . Whirlpool’s sixthsense technology uses sensors built into The washing machine to continually monitor and control Your washing cycle to give you perfect results in the Most efficient way to possible . Sixthsense adjusts water , temperature and time levels To save energy and natural resources .

  28. applications Make a call Call up a map Check the time Create multimedia reading experience Drawing application Zooming features Get product information Get book information Get flight updates Feed information on people

  29. Make a call : -

  30. You can use the sixthsense to project a keypad onto Your hand . then use the virtual keypad to make a call . Calling a number also will not be a great task with the Introduction of sixthsense technology . No mobile device Will be required . just type the number in your palm Acting as the virtual keypad . The keys will come up on The fingers .

  31. call up a map: -

  32. The sixthsense also implements map which lets the user display the map On any physical surface and find his destination . and he can use Thumbs and index fingers to navigate the map , to zoom in & zoom out And do other controls .

  33. check the time : -

  34. Sixthsense all we have to do is draw a circle on our Wrist with our index fingers to get a virtual watch That gives us the correct time . The computer tracks the red marker cap or piece of Tape . Recognizes the gesture , and instructs the projector to Flash the image of a watch onto his wrist .

  35. Create multimedia reading experience : -

  36. A newspaper can show live video news or dynamic Information can be provided on a regular piece of paper . Thus a piece of paper turns into a video displays .

  37. Drawing application : -

  38. The drawing application lets the user draw on Any surface by tracking the fingertip movements Of the user’s index finger .

  39. Zooming features: -

  40. The user can zoom in & zoom out using hand movements.

  41. Advantages of sixthsense technology Portable Cost effective Open source Data access directly from machine in real time Connected with world & information Supports multi-touch & multi-user interaction
