Strengths • Strong political leadership and cross party support for fire safety • Track record in service delivery – multi-agency partnership & action plan part of robust H&S framework • Qualified and competent staff – supported by trained Corporate H&S officers • Effective relationship with SFARS – routine; ‘safe & well’ scheme; shared training • History & up-to-date annual Fire Risk Assessment(s) across all blocks & Sheltered schemes • Ongoing Investment - £130k in 2013 in fire safety i.e. low level signage • Programme of inspections – caretakers, cleaners and scheme managers • Commitment to fit sprinklers in High Rise stock from Jan 2014 • Third party contractor – GES conducting programme of fire risk assessments; gas; ;legionella; asbestos • SFARS support with high rise fire safety (booklet; exercises; FRA(s) and programme checks sheltered) • No ACM cladding in landlord stock • Refurbishment Works c£1.5m over next two years to High Rise • Clear links to Corporate Business Continuity Planning

  8. Next Steps • Scrutiny – review procedures 8th August 2017 to inform further Cabinet decisions:- • Cabinet Report 17th August 2017 – Update on Sprinklers and proposals for programme electric testing and • Cabinet 19th October 2017 – Fire Safety Strategy enhanced by any early learning
