  2. IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 • MDRC, 6 modules wide • Supply with 230 V AC and / or 12 V DC (backup) • 10 MBit Ethernet connection (RJ45) • Additional function:Programming of EIB devicesover LAN with the iETSclient of the ETS(from ETS2 V1.3 on)

  3. IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 • Converts EIB telegrams in IP-telegrams and vice versa Ethernet IG/S IG/S EIB

  4. IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 Advantages • Usage as area- or line coupler The IG/S can be used as an area- or line coupler. Thereby the local network (LAN) is used as a fast arealine (backbone). • Higher data transfer rate By using the LAN as a backbone a higher data transfer rate is possible (10 MBit <-> 9,6 kBit).

  10. IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 More advantages • Easier interfaces Visualisation and other PC applications can easier get data from EIB devices. They can listen to the telegrams on the LAN (-> OPC). They don´t need EIB interfaces themselves. • Open for the future A lot of devices in the household and in the office today already have Ethernet connections. With an IG/S the EIB is open for communication to other systems and devices.

  11. EIB Line 1 EIB Line 2 EIB Line 100 IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 • With OPC Server OPC server (1x per installation) OPC client 1 (e.g. visualisation) The OPC server is a software. If necessary it can be installed on the same PC, which runs the client (e.g. visualisation). The OPC client(s) send and receive data only to/from the OPC server. They „don‘t know“ EIB telegrams. The OPC server gets all data from the IG/S and converts them into OPC objects. Hub/Switch OPC client 2
