  1. Preconditions: Anti-Semitism, Racism, & Common Prejudices In order for a house to burn down, three things are required. The timber must be dry and combustible, there needs to be a spark that ignites it, and external conditions have to be favorable—not too damp, perhaps some wind. [1] • Antisemitism • Eugenics • Imperialism & Racism • Common Prejudices  Slavs, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc • The Great War (1914-1918)  “total war” In what ways did the above act as preconditions for the Holocaust? Hitler’s Nazi regime in Germany provided the spark that set off the destruction we now call the Holocaust, and World War II (1939-1945) created a setting conducive to brutality. However, without certain preconditions . . . mass murder on such a scale would not have been possible. People had to be prepared to accept the identification of other members of their society as enemies. [1]

  2. All nature is a gigantic struggle between strength and weakness, an eternal victory of the strong over the weak. Adolph Hitler Christmas (1944)

  3. Citizens! Do not believe that the Germany of misfortune and misery, the nation of corruption and usury, the land of Jewish corruption, can be saved by parties that claim to stand on a foundation of facts. Never!" Poster announcing Nazi meeting in Munich (May 1920)

  4. Who is Adolf Hitler? The man from the people, for the people! The German front soldier who risked his life in 48 battles for Germany! What does Adolf Hitler want? Freedom and food for every decent working German! The gallows for profiteers, black marketeers and exploiters, regardless of religious faith or race! Why is Adolf Hitler not allowed to speak? Because he is ruthless in uncovering the rulers of the German economy, the international bank Jews and their lackeys, the Democrats, Marxists, Jesuits, and Free Masons! Because he wants to free the workers from the domination of big money! Working Germans! Demand the lifting of the illegal ban on his speaking! poster “Who is Adolf Hitler?” (ca. 1927)

  5. Two million dead. Did they die in vain? Never! Front soldiers! Adolf Hitler is showing you the way!" Nazi election poster (1928)
