Innovative Solutions for Counterfeiting: IOP-ETAC Project

The Interoperability between Emerging Technologies Against Counterfeiting (IOP-ETAC) project aims to combat the rising threat of counterfeiting, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. This initiative focuses on developing efficient tools to tackle criminal networks and safeguard citizens globally. With a strong emphasis on information security, microelectronics, optoelectronics, and electronic warfare, the project seeks to achieve interoperability among various technologies. The National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (TUBITAK-UEKAE) leads this initiative and collaborates with esteemed European organizations on ongoing projects. They are actively seeking end-users and standardization bodies to further enhance their capabilities in the fight against counterfeit products. Join this crucial effort to protect industries and consumers from the detrimental effects of counterfeiting.

  2. Interoperability between Emerging Technologies Against Counterfeiting: IOP-ETAC • Counterfeiting is one of the fastest growing economic threat worldwide. • Counterfeit products account for between 5-7% of world trade. • Counterfeiting, especially, threatens the pharmaceutical industry. • Very dangerous for citizens not only in Europe but also in the World. • The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that counterfeits cost the pharmaceuticals industry US$46 billion annually. • This value is expected to increase to US$75 billion by 2010.
