  8. PLURILINGUAL EXPERIENCE • From bilingualism to plurilingualism • Compulsory Secondary & Baccalaureate (12-18) • Human resources • Teacher in-service training, free time to develop materials and financial resources.

  9. CLIL PROVISION Secondary: 26 schools (English) 10 schools (French)

  10. CRITERIA OF ADMISSION - Voluntary for students. - Criteria: up to each school

  11. PUPILS ASSESSMENT “Selectividad”

  12. SUBJECTS Different subjects in English (at least 7 hours per week or 25% of the curriculum)

  13. Level of language required: B2 TEACHERS’ QUALIFICATION

  14. “Las Administraciones educativas regularán los requisitos de formación añadidos que se exigirán al profesorado para impartir en una lengua extranjera, un área o materia distinta a la de dicha lengua, en centros públicos o privados cuyos proyectos educativos comporten un régimen de enseñanza bilingüe. Entre estos requisitos deberá incluirse, a partir del año académico 2010-2011, acreditación del dominio de la lengua extranjera equivalente al nivel B2 del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas” (Real Decreto 1834/2008, de 8 de noviembre)

TOWARDS THE FUTURE WHAT THE LAW SAYS: "Para avanzar hacia el objetivo de conseguir, desde el bilingüismo, alumnos y alumnas plurilingües, los centros implantarán medidas de refuerzo del aprendizaje y utilización de lenguas extranjeras, garantizando los niveles de competencia previstos para las dos lenguas oficiales. Para ello podrán incluir la impartición de algunas materias en dichas lenguas extranjeras, en las condiciones que se determinen” (capítulo II, artículo 13, apartado 3) “En el tercer ciclo de esta etapa (Primaria) los centros podrán incluir una segunda lengua extranjera” (capítulo II, artículo 11, apartado 2).

TOWARDS THE FUTURE • Teacher training • B2 level for at least 30% of the teachers. • Change of role of Foreign Language specialist. • Secondary teachers in Foreign Language plus a non-linguistic subject. • Implementation of other languages: French, German, Chinese, Arabic... • Trilingualism requirement for new teachers. • Centres “RPT”: content and foreign language requirement to get the position.
