WORK DONE FOR THE PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS IN THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN • Legal base for the census was created • The scope and time for the population and housing census was identified • The pilot population and housing census was conducted • The financial basis for the population and housing fund was created • The schedule for the population and housing census was created • The borders of the settlements were adjusted and mapping material was composed • The lists of accommodations and rural settlements were compiled • The organizational plans for the implementation of the population and housing census were prepared and approved, together with the mass-awareness campaign amongst population

5. THE AREA OF THE PILOT POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS, cityRogun, 15 – 24 October 2008 Rogunskiydistrict Total population – 7 373,8 thousand persons In the area of the pilot census – 33 640 persons

POPULATION ELIGIBLE FOR THE POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS IN THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN, 2010 PERSONS, TEMPORARILY RESIDING IN TAJUKISTAN, AND PERMANENTLY LIVING ABROAD POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN PERMANENT AND PRESENT POPULATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN RESIDING ABROAD FOR LESS THAN 1 YEAR RESIDING DURING THE CESUS RESIDING ABROAD IN THE PLACE OF THE PERMANENT RESIDENCE ABROAD, FOR STUDY OR WORK FOR LESS THAN 1 YEAR ABROAD FOR LEISURE, HEALTH TREATMENT OR VISIT FOR WORK OR STUDY FOR LESS THAN 1 YEAR PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR IN SEARCH OF THE PERMANENT RESIDENCE

7. TIME REQUIRED TO FILL THE ENUMERATION LISTS – 10 DAYS AVERAGE BURDEN RATE FOR ONE UNUMERATOR IN THE CITY- 400, IN VILLAGE- 350 PERSONS During the preparatory pre-census period the head of the census department defines a list of the residential properties, in which the population reside and non-residential properties where population can reside PREPARATORY PERIOD Until 20 September Enumerator is getting familiarized with the territory of his district VISIT OF THE RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES 18-20 September POPULATION SURVEY AND FILLING OF THE ENUMERATION LISTS From 21 to 30 September Done by enumerator Conducted by the head of the census department and the instructor-enumerator, in 10% of the residential properties in the enumeration district CONTROL VISITS from 3 to 5 October
