  2. Synthesis Center Overview • Opened Spring 2005 at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), on the campus of the University of California, San Diego

  3. Synthesis Center Overview • Large meeting space • Multiple display devices • Private conference room with high resolution projection system

  4. Synthesis Center Overview • Custom configuration

  5. Synthesis Center Overview • 3x1 Tiled Display • Projection area measuring 26′×5′ (8m×1.5m) • Three identical ceiling-mounted JVC HD2K projectors, each at the maximum HDTV resolution of 1920×1080 pixels • Total display area resolution of 5760×1080 pixels

  6. Synthesis Center Overview • 3x1 Tiled Display

  7. Synthesis Center Overview • Stereo Display • Adjacent to our 3×1 tiled display • Measures 6¼′×5′ (2m×1.5m) • Illuminated by two JVC SX21 projectors for concentrically-polarized passive-stereo operation • Use of concentric polarization to achieve the stereo effect was selected for its superior luminance-preserving characteristic compared to linear polarization systems

  8. Synthesis Center Overview • Stereo Display
