  11. Chapter Spotlight • Central Region: • Cleveland Chapter • Chapter held a Super Saturday with workshops hourly. Church held their quarterly Food Drive and invited the mayor, police chief and other community leaders. Including the workshops below, AIM-IRS helped taxpayers resolve state and local tax problems. • ID Theft, • Foreclosure/Cancellation of Debt, • Bankruptcy, • Starting a Business, • Business Use of Home, and • Rental Income. 2011 National Report

  12. Chapter Spotlight MID-Atlantic Region: Virginia Chapter Hosted a VITA site in the Blackwell Community Center. This is the first time a VITA site has been at the location and the center director was very excited they were chosen. Partnered with MetroCash (non-profit organization). The partnership was a great collaboration and together a difference was made in the lives of working families to meet their tax obligations. Financial and credit counseling was offered by MetroCash (including a free credit report). This was a really good experience. Volunteers learned a lot and enjoyed giving back to the community. 2011 National Report

  13. Chapter Spotlight Midwest Region: Kansas City Chapter The volunteers are dedicated and many have volunteered for 9 years. We assisted more than 500 clients, preparing current, prior, and amended returns. Assistance was provided to the elderly by going into their homes to obtain signatures and documents to complete their returns. As a result of an outstanding quality record, the IRS Kansas City Campus requested their 15 VITA employees participate in the Chapter’s annual training. 2011 National Report

  14. Chapter Spotlight • Southeast Region: • Ft. Lauderdale Chapter • Chapter held VITA site in one of four black research libraries in the US. The library contains more than 75,000 books and materials on the experiences of people of African descent in the Caribbean, Central, and South American and the United States. • The library has special collections including eight unpublished manuscripts by Alex Haley. 2011 National Report

  15. Chapter Spotlight • Southwest Region: • Houston Chapter • Chapter added two extra days by appointment only. This was great for the community and the site was booked every week. 2011 National Report

  16. Chapter Spotlight Western Region: Fresno Chapter The Chapter volunteers are current and retired IRS employees. The Site captain had extensive knowledge including advance certification to complete more complex tax returns. 2011 National Report
