What ROLE does technology play? - Research Assistant - Medium for Communication and Gaming - Resource for Information What ROLE do we play in the use of technology in our classrooms? - Facilitators - Models of Appropriate Digital Citizenship - Provide limitation and instruction - Expand their knowledge of the technology

  3. What are the Rules of Technology use in the classroom? - All use of technology must be authentic and purposeful - All research must lawful and properly cited. - All use of technology in the classroom must be within the rules of the BYOD Contract - Parents and students must all be informed as to the purpose for the technology and the value added to the class. - Technology should be used as an enhancement of classroom learning, not as a replacement for teaching and hands on, collaborative learning. - - Most importantly, cyber crime must be described and prevented.

  4. Why should we ROLL out and not RULE out technology in the classroom? - Promote 21st Century Skills in the classroom - Encourage “Moonshot Thinkers” to grow - Allow students to prepare for the digital work force of this century - Encourage accountability and focus in our students - Provide them with all avenues available to them to learn - Teach appropriateness of gaming, research, and interactive sites for learning
