Successful Wound Healing in an 83-Year-Old Female with COPD: A Case Study

This case study examines the wound healing journey of an 83-year-old Caucasian female with a history of COPD, pneumonia, and a thoracic vertebra compression deformity. She presented with a pressure ulcer located at T3-T4, which had persisted for over one year before commencing Controlled Dressing Optimizations (CDO). After 56 days of treatment, her wound, originally measuring 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.1 cm, healed completely. The case highlights the effectiveness of CDO under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Edwards and wound nurse Mary UheRN.
