Facilities - Hardware • Five PC’s, all with dual P4 Xeon processors and 1 to 4 GB RAM • 8 PowerMacs, G4 & G5’s, running OS 9 and X • 5 Unix workstations, running Linux, Solaris 8, and IRIX 6.5, including an 8 node / 16 CPU Beowulf cluster
Facilities - Hardware • poster plotter (Epson Stylus 9500 Pro) • wide-format inkjet printer (HP DesignJet 30) • 35mm film recorder (Personal LFR Plus) • two slide scanners • several digital cameras and digital camcorders
Facilities - Software • Design • Data Analysis & Presentation including need-based requested software • Application specific, typically acquired in response to the special needs of UMD researchers Full list available online
Mathematica MatLab & Simulink PC • integrated computational engine, graphics, and programming language, with connectivity to other applications
SigmaScan PC • Image Analysis Tool • collect measurements from images such as intensity, hue, saturation, distance, perimeter, slope, angle, area, volume, and center of mass simultaneously
SigmaPlot PC • Graphing software with data analysis tools • New version seamlessly integrates with Excel
TecPlot PC • Powerful data management and graphing software • create animations, 4-D plots

Access • limited to UMD faculty, research associates, and graduate students • staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 4:30 pm • faculty and graduate students may receive a key for 24 hour access
