  1. Zeid Sinokrot: Pioneering Early Pest Detection Using Bioacoustics and AI Solutions at Palmear Have you ever come across pests and annoying creepy crawlies that infiltrate your plants, gardens, and farms? You’re not alone. The creepy crawlies are everywhere! They’re small and quick which gets them accessing small crevices and hiding in corners away from human’s eyes. Ants, worms, roaches, moths, and many more. They come in armies and disrupt the healthy growth of whatever green thing you grow. Some pests can single-handly cause mass destruction in a short time and can even reproduce just as fast. Nobody likes the pests that destroy our beautiful plants and greenery, especially our farmers. Farmers spend a lot of time, effort, and costs in buying, planting, cultivating, growing, harvesting, producing, and distributing their crops and produce. They would be utterly let down, disappointed, saddened, and frustrated when they’d have to deal with annoying pests and insects regularly. Precision Farming (PA) can play an active role in managing and improving crop yield and production with the integration of advanced modern technological tools with agricultural and farming practices. Farmers always aim to produce high-quality harvests just as much as they spend every minute tending to their plantations. But pests can always be present, anywhere and everywhere. Therefore with precision farming, agriculture innovation has taken the forefront position in building equipment to combat these challenges and provide farmers with relief in safely, confidently, and efficiently managing their crops in better ways. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Bioacoustics play a huge role in precision and smart farming practices. AI plays a prominent role in smart farming and sustainable farming practices and helps farmers identify huge data and information through analytical applications, tools, and software. Artificial Intelligence collects all the required data from drones, sensors, monitoring tools, etcetera to provide detailed data-driven knowledge on what steps they can take to improve or to maintain their techniques, practices, and strategies in better managing their fields, farms, crops, and produce. The use of Bioacoustics helps farmers to physically locate the possible presence of pests and insects that are not easily visible, through the production of targeted sounds. Therefore in this article, we will explore a business startup venture led by Zeid Sinokrot, who founded Palmear in pioneering the innovation of a patented tech tool that detects the presence of any pests at the earliest possible time, thereby solving pest problems for farmers. About the Founder and CEO at Palmear - Zeid Sinokrot: The Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Palmear is Zeid Sinokrot. Hailing from the United Arab Emirates, Zeid studied abroad in The United Kingdom and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from the University of Nottingham as well as a Master’s Degree in Logistics Trade and Finance from the Cass Business School.

  2. “Protecting Trees, Soil, and the Planet” with precision agriculture through Artificial Intelligence and Bioacoustics. - Palmear. Zeid worked in many diverse roles and positions before founding Palmear. He was a Junior Design Engineer at the Bühler Group, a Managing Director at Sultan Fresh Fruits Company (SUFFCO), a Project Manager at Hilal Bricks, a Board Member at Sinokrot Group, a Partner at Advanced Security Business Group, and finally the Founder and CEO of Palmear in the year 2019. Zeid was faced with a challenge. He says - “Around 14 years ago, I helped my father develop a date palm plantation in Jericho, where I saw the problem first-hand. Farmers would use doctors’ stethoscopes to try to understand where the pests were and I thought, We can elevate this.” The founder along with his team of experts and professionals such as Scientists, Researchers, Engineers, and Farmers, Zeid Sinokrot set out on his entrepreneurial journey which inspired and led him to start Palmear - an AI and Bioacoustics solution that integrates technology and precision farming practices through early pest detection tool with the use of AI and Bioacoustics as a precision agriculture solution. PALMEAR: Palmear was founded by CEO - Zeid Sinokrot in the year 2019. The company is established and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE. Palmear uses the advanced modern technological tools of Artificial Intelligence and Bioacoustics in detecting pests in agriculture. The patented technology that is manufactured by Palmear integrates Data Analytics, AI, and Audio Engineering in Bioacoustics, to solve and prevent the adverse effects of the infected trees, plants, and crop life, on a global scale. The patented tech detects any life form through targeted sounds by inserting the needed inside the tree for 50 seconds, after which real-time data is provided through a smartphone or tablet app. This automated agriculture solution provides farmers with a feeling of ease and relief in being cost, time, and labor-effective, as it is available and accessible on a farm and country level. With affordable subscription models, Palmear offers and provides its patented technology to farmers to better control and manage their crops and yields with a good investment. Better decisions can be made that would empower and encourage our farmers to fight against these creepy crawly pests for good! “Nearly 50 million farmers' livelihoods are affected by the Red Palm Weevil (RPW) pest. The RPW spends 80% of its life undetected, irreversibly destroying palm trees from the inside. 30% of palm trees in the world stand to be affected.” - Palmear. The Early detection, Mapping, Pest Trap Monitoring, Reporting, and Data Analytics are enabled by the Integrated Pest Management approach of Palmear’s tech. Palmear shares

  3. global statistical data on their efforts in how much the services and tech have helped save over 120,000 Palm Trees from infestations, and have reduced around 8,400 tones of Carbon dioxide emissions. This environmentally friendly solution in the early pest detection tool forms a trusted bond with Palmear by farmers as this is a non-invasive method that causes no harm, is a transportable tech equipment that is easy to navigate and use, as well as is priced at competitive rates. The real-time management of Palm Trees and other products grown in sustainable farming practices is therefore beneficial in optimizing and improving crop yield, quality, and efficiency!
