FUNDING SOURCES TO DEVELOP AMERICA’S TALENT! •DOL has invested $288 Million to engage Education & Business --High-Growth Job Training Initiative (Business Driven-Toyota) --Community Based Job Training Grants (Community Colleges/Under-prepared workers) --WIRED Grants-Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (Single Regional Strategy)

THOUGHT LEADERS(BOEING) The Boeing Company-Rick Stephens, Senior Vice President-HR •Why a world leader in Aerospace with 787 Dreamliner? --Must build coalitions-externally & internally; ---get partners together ---develop vision, mission and shared values; and ---establish a structure for implementation.

THOUGHT LEADERS(BOEING) --Company success is the outcome of continuous learning by employees. --Collectively we have the responsibility to develop talent --Employees need a passion to learn-unlearn and re-learn --Companies must focus on their strength or their “niche.” --Companies must be relevant to business and to economic development.

CONCLUSION ••Shoreline’s sails are set in the right direction for extreme SUCCESS! ••New “Strategic Plan” mirrors the ideas of the America’s most successful global companies DOL initiatives emphasize the global workplace, diversity and building a sustainable environment. ••Workforce Programs are tied to economic development for the region and builds on growth - high wage SECTORS and partnerships.
