  5. Dryer Extension with Vacuum Inkjet Heads Here Dryer Here It is best to print on separate belts than you dry on, because it increases the life of the belts and keeps the integrity of the print quality throughout the life of the FIT system. The extensions are slave units to the host base, getting both the drive and vacuum from it. Shown here is the FIT 36 with a FIT 30 DB Total of 66” in length

  6. Work Cell Accessories Inkjet Heads Dryer To complete the system there are several different models of friction feeders and collection conveyors to choose what best fits the needs of your client Collection or sorting conveyor Friction Feeder & Stand

  10. Modularity ~ Customer Situation • The owner mid-sized print shop, Mike, makes a decision to get into mailing because of increased pressure from some of his top clients. Unfortunately, the owner does not have the budget this year for a full blown inkjet system. 80% of his current requirements are to simply addressing non-glossy postcards. He decides to make the investment in a 2” print system on the FIT-36.

  11. Modularity ~ Customer Situation • The system works great for Mike until next year when his top customer now want to send glossy post cards. His current system does not have enough space for a dryer. In the past, Mike would have had to purchase a new transport or spend a significant amount of money adding an extension. Fortunately for Mike, he purchased a FIT transport that can host a dryer extension. It can be added on his existing base in less than 30 minutes. Dryer Print Head

  12. Modularity ~ Customer Situation • 2 years into inkjet addressing, Mike’s company has now been approached by several customers wanting Mike to address their mail. His company is limited in what jobs they can offer a bid because his entry level system only allows for 2” of print. Lucky for Mike, he has a FIT transport. In less than 1 hour he can extend his current 36” base to a 72” single belt base, re-attach the dryer extension. Now it is ready to be upgraded from 2” of print up to 16”.

  13. The design of this base not only gave the customer an entry level system for a low cost investment but it is designed to be field upgradable as needed and fit within their budget throughout the growth of the company Why Modularity Matters 13 September 27, 2014 PBI Internal use only

  14. FIT Options • After choosing the length of the base, choose a belt configuration. Note that not all belt configurations are readily available for each length. Standard 3 Belt Configuration 5 Belt Configuration 14.5” Wide Belt Configuration

  16. FIT Options • A standard FIT comes with a single center vacuum channel that runs the length of the base. The vacuum pressure is adjustable. The FIT can also be ordered with 3 vacuum channels controlled by a series of valves that are easily accesable.

  17. FIT = Serviceability • Replaceable electronic control box • PLC Controlled • Variable Frequency Drive/ AC Motor • 110vac/220vac 50/60 Hz switchable • Flat rollers, not crowned for precision belt speed synchronization and true alignment • Individually guides belts with V Groove • Pre drilled deck for a wide variety of mounting structures • Input and Output sensors for jam detection • L to R or R to L change over • Easy belt change • Easy encoder mounting • Castors and leveling feet

  18. FIT and Other Applications • The FIT line can be used for more than Inkjet or DOD printing, it is also a great platform for labeling, scanning, transporting, imaging and other in-line applications Shown with Print and Apply label head Being fed by the Force Flex Feeder
