What is FTS? • On-line database of humanitarian funding • Real-time snapshot of contributions to natural disasters and complex emergencies (all Consolidated and Flash Appeals and contributions outside appeals (bilateral, Red Cross/Red Crescent, etc.) • Real-time snapshot of emergencies without an appeal • Tool to improve coordination, resource allocation decisions, and advocacy

  4. Why is FTS important during the CAP process • Year in review narrative • Cluster response plans • Tables with previous year response • Humanitarian Appeal chapeau

  5. Where does the information come from ? WHERE DOES THE INFORMATION COME FROM?

  6. Key challenges • Delays in reporting • Several sources for the same piece of information. Descriptions and amounts can vary. • False distinction between appeal and non-appeal • Unearmarked funding / SNYS • Lack of NGO reporting

  7. What can you do? • Consult FTS regularly and look for gaps/inconsistencies. • Explain FTS to all CAP and non-CAP partners. • Circulate FTS flyers to all humanitarian partners, including donors. • Ensure that your office only uses FTS figures in all information products. • Familiarize yourself with all pre-set tables and custom search features.

Which tables are what? • Tables A and B: All humanitarian contributions to an emergency, both inside and outside appeal • Tables C, D, E, F, G: Contributions only to the appeal, organized by appealing organization, summary by cluster, list of projects, list of contributions • Table H: List of contributions outside the appeal • See also: Customized by country (i.e. location, priority, gender marker)
