Excavators • Excavators require: • Position of cab/excavator • RTK GPS • Pitch & Roll recommended • Heading of cab/excavator • Directional GPS • Inclinometer system • 3 Inclinometers • Optional: • Barge position and heading. • You should hire somebody who knows what they are doing to install the system. Excavator Set-Up

  3. Excavators • There are several ways to interface the inclinometers: • HYPACK EXCAVATOR INTERFACE BOX ( new style ) • SERIAL / USB interface box ( older style ) • Ocala Serial interface • Custom Parser ( user defined string )

  4. Excavators • Inclinometers are connected to a controller. • Controller has a network connection. • Can be configured through a browser (IE). HYPACK EXCAVATOR INTERFACE

  5. Excavators • Inclinometers are connected to an interface box. • Controller has a USB or SERIAL connection. • All of the configuration is done in HYPACK HARDWARE. SERIAL/USB INTERFACE

  6. Excavator Drivers • Excavator Interface – low level driver receives data from inclinometers Passes dimensions on to the display driver. This is where the user selects the type of sensor installation that is on the machine.

  7. Excavator Driver • Excavator.DLL – Merges all previous excavator driver capabilities into a single device driver. • Also available in the display: • Cut/Fill Bar and the Reach Bar • Current Final Elevation and Channel Depth are easily displayed

  8. Excavator.DLL: General Settings • Contains: • Excavator Dimensions • System override values • Sensor adjustments. • Grapple and Filter settings.
