Beneficiaries of EWS & LIG, seeking home loan from banks & other financial institution under this scheme would be eligible for an interest subsidy of 6.5% for tenure of 15 years. The credit linked subsidy will be available only for loan amount up to Rs.6.00 lakhs only. Additional loan beyond Rs 6.00 lakhs will be at the nonsubsidized rate. THE MAXIMUM NET SUBSIDY AMOUNT TO BE CREDITED TO THE ACCOUNT OF BENEFICIARY ON A MAXIMUM SUBSIDIZED LOAN OF RS. 6.00 LAKHS WOULD APPROXIMATELY BE RS. 2.67 LAKHS. Interest subsidy will be credited upfront to the loan account of beneficiaries through lending institutions resulting in reduced effective housing loan and reduced EMI.
