Common Change Patterns in Fathers’ Faith • No change • Religion always central • Negative experience made disinterested • Other life experiences (alcohol, etc.) • Changes • Fathering initiated: brings to forefront • Enhancements: provided boost needed • Seekers: now see importance of exploration

  4. Typologies of Fathering in Faith: A Continuum • Discouraging • Disinterested • Provider • Disciple Maker (Generative)

  5. Common Challenges for Fathering in Faith • Consistent life style (avoiding hypocrisy) • Vitality of own faith • Biblical or doctrinal knowledge • Faith as a gendered venture
