  1. Uplift North Hills 2015-2016

  2. Rationale • As educators, it is one of our greatest hopes that our scholars grow up to be independent, problem solving, well rounded, lifelong learners. Science Fair can be a powerful and effective means to achieving this end. The evident purpose of Science Fair is for scholars to experience the Scientific Method firsthand by generating a question of interest, designing the experiment, collecting and analyzing data, and synthesizing a conclusion. The benefits don’t end here. By scholars investigating real world issues, they become solution oriented individuals. When they work with other team members, they learn those essential interpersonal skills. By writing research plans and abstracts, as well as, reading through scientific articles, they strengthen literacy skills. Science Fair can hook scholars and gear their minds towards future science careers – and we need more scientists in the US! You, as a SF supporter, have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational trajectory of our scholars.
