2. Brief Bio 12th year of teaching in Klein district, 15 years total experience. Graduate of SHSU-B.A. Master’s work at UT & IU. Mother of 3 daughters and 3 sons, 3 of whom graduated from KCHS! Former Collins Crew & KC comp cheer squad sponsor Currently sponsoring French club, Working 2 part-time jobs at HLA and Coldwater Creek.

6. Knowing French helps you communicate in 55 countries on all continents with over 200 million people! For success to happen in the classroom, the parent & the student are 2/3 of the equation! Support & communication are crucial!

French is the official language for commerce and trade in 25 African countries and is the key to communicating with over a quarter of a billion of Africans

8. BASIC RULES 1. Arrive to class on time. 2. Come to class prepared & turn in items when asked. 3. Absolutely NO CELL PHONES or iPods. (yes to ear buds/head sets for laptops) 4. No food, drinks, gum or water bottles are allowed in the classroom & no talking & walking, unless asked. 5. ALWAYS respect your teacher, classmates & KISD rules!

It offers access to great works of literature, as well as films and songs, in the original French. French is the language of Victor Hugo, Molière, Edith Piaf, Jean-Paul Sartre, and ZinedineZidane. People all over the world know Monet, Coco Chanel, Marion Cotillard & more!

13. PC Tablets It is very important that every student has a tablet, headset or ear buds & their supplies every day! We will use tablets almost daily & in tablet mode. If the student does not have a tablet due to extenuating circumstances, please contact their administrator.

15. Supplies etc. Supply list: (White, hard 1” binder with clear pocket cover, No spiral notebook-just white, wide-rule paper, 5 dividers, blue/black pens, red pen, pencils). Students are to bring this, their textbook, & their tablet to class each day. I cannot store their books. They can use lockers or keep in backpack. I will be able to store their two workbooks here. They will tear out as needed. Books are required in case of no internet usage.

16. LANGUAGELEARNINGTIPS: 1. Master those French verbs. Practice them daily. Use them. Speak out loud, or with a partner! 2. Keep up with the work & participate in class! 3. Make lots of errors and "get them out of the way!" Work daily on new vocabulary. Make lists of words, or flashcards. Use mnemonic devices. Use your new words with friends and create and say aloud three sentences daily using your new French vocabulary. 4.
