In thiswebinar, conditions which impose medical dietary restrictions willbe de?ned, and relations to DE patterns will be discussed.Attendees will learn how to provide counseling for clients withthese conditions in a way that promotes balanced eating. Screeningfor DE/ED as well as prevention and treatment will be covered. Casestudy examples will be used to apply information learned. Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to: • Identify medical conditions that impose necessary dietary restrictions, like food allergies, digestive diseases, & diabetes mellitus. • Understand how medically necessary dietary restrictions can lead to DE/ED attitudes & behaviors. • Screen clients with certain medical conditions for DE/ED attitudes & behaviors. • Learn skills used in providing nutrition counseling for medical dietary restrictions in order to prevent and/or treat DE/ED. • Apply learned principles to case study examples.
