QUALITY AUDIT & FOOD DEFENSE PROGRAMS • Food Defense Plan required from all contractors: Ration component suppliers and assemblers; Prime Vendor Contractors; and Produce Prime Vendors (new contracts). • Food Defense Checklist – located on Supplier Support website: http://www.dscp.dla.mil/subs/fs_check.pdf • Compliance checked during audits and QSMVs. • Rations: Quality Systems Plan (QSP) required for ration components under Higher-Level Contract Quality requirements. Workbook I – Documented Quality Systems Plan Evaluation Guideline, Revision 5, August 2008. • Integrated Pest Management – Submission of plan is not necessary, if facility required to submit a QSP. Some information needs to be listed in QSP. On-site evaluation of IPM same as for HACCP Plan and SSOP. • Audits performed on: Ration Suppliers (QSP) Prime Vendors • Produce Prime Vendors

  8. Provides Quality and Technical programs and support for procured operational ration items (MRE, LRP, MCW, UGR, FSR), Food Service Equipment (FSE), and Field Feeding Equipment (FFE). Implements and maintains Packaging requirements for all rations and food service and field feeding equipment. Maintains the Value Engineering program, Quality Assurance manuals, publications, specifications, directives and instructions for operational rations items, food service and field feeding equipment. Prepares Engineering Support Cases for all ration items. Processes Product Quality Discrepancy Reports (PQDR) and Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) for operational rations, food service and field feeding equipment. Operational Rations & Equipment Branch Responsibilities
