  4. Use of Agenda • Students write in assignments each class • Focus teachers initial at the end of the day-for as long as student needs monitoring • Student passes (excluding restroom) • Student Handbook – policies and expectations • Calendar

  5. Homework • Homework Hotline • Lists team’s assignments each evening • 293-4542 x5804—will be up and running soon • Expectations • Complete assigned work as directed • If too difficult, make an attempt and have a parent make a note of the difficulty

  6. Missing Homework • No Homework Form • Meant as an instant communication • When a student does not have their HW in class for any reason (whether it is complete or not) he/she fills out a No HW Form. It explains what the assignment is, and why it is not in class. The teacher signs it, the student signs it, and then it goes home for a parent to sign. • BOTH the form and the assignment must come back to the next class in order to receive some credit.

  7. Make-Up Procedures • When a student is absent we have a student collect work for him/her • You may request to pick up work by calling the attendance office at 293-4542 x3500 by 9:00 am on the second day of absence • The folder will be placed in the mailbox slots on the wall behind the greeter’s desk after school OR • The student’s work will be in his/her mailbox when they return

  8. Notes From Home • When your son/daughter is absent, please send in a note upon his/her return. • If you will be picking up your child early, also send a note when possible. • If your child will be taking a different bus home from school, he/she will also need a note.

  9. Conferences • Conference Day – November 5th • You may sign up on the clipboards if you want to come in for a conference. • If you would prefer an e-mail or phone conference, please use the appropriate sheets for those. • Conferences may be scheduled at other times throughout the year. • There will be another conference scheduled on March 18th.

  10. NY State Assessments • ELA – May 4 and 5 • Math – May 11 and 12
