  1. Our school “Lorenzo Da Ponte” Our school called “Lorenzo Da Ponte”.

  2. Geography In Italy, in the region of north-east, Veneto, there are many provinces including Treviso. Near Treviso, there is a small city, but very rich in history: Vittorio Veneto. In Vittorio Veneto in Via Dello Stadio, there is our school: LORENZO DA PONTE :)

  3. Our founder: Lorenzo Da Ponte Lorenzo Da Ponte was a writer. Born in Vittorio Veneto Israelite, converted to Christianity, took holy orders in 1773, but later led a dissolute life and adventurous, witnessed by Memorie published in New York (1823-1827), where he had fled to escape his creditors. Brilliant scholar, during his stay in Vienna (1881-1891) worked as librettist with the greatest musicians of the time such as Mozart and Salieri.

  4. Our Principal Our Principal is called Francesco Dematté. Every day he has a long way to come to school. He’s an excellent principal, authoritative and demanding. Before becoming Principal he was a professor of Phylosophy and History​​. Our school as all the schools has a deputy, this year's task was entrusted to Mrs.Cristina Rigo. She is a teacher of Italian Language ​​in some classes of the school.

  5. Welcome We go to secondary school in Vittorio Veneto. Our school is a mixed school for students from 11 to 14. Our school is big, white and blue. There are two buildings: the east and the west. There are four floors the basement, the ground floor, the first and the second. In our school there are about 350 students. Our school has got two elevators.

  6. Our school subjects At school we study: Italian, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Technology, PE, Information Technology (IT), Art, Music. Religious studies are optional, some students have alternative activities with a teacher. We choose a second foreign language among German, Spanish and French.

  7. West ground floor On the west ground floor there are: one class (2°A), a science laboratory, the school office, a school exchange, a principal’s office and two toilets: one boys and girls’ toilets and one teachers’ toilets.

  8. Basement On the basement there are: two gyms, one is big gym and one is a small gym, two toilets, the music room and two changing rooms.

  9. East ground floor On the east ground floor there are: the school hall, two IT rooms, the language laboratory, the staff room and two toilets: one boys and girls’ toilet and one teachers’ toilet.

  10. First floor In the west building there are: five classrooms (1°A, 1°E, 2°E, 2°F and 3°E) and two toilets. In the east building there are: five classrooms (1°B, 1°C, 2°C, 2°D and 3°C) and two toilets. On each floor of our school is a "stop" of the 'lift that helps people unable to use stairs.

  11. West second floor On west building there are: one class room (3°A), lim room, music laboratory, art laboratory and two toilets: a toilet for boys and a toilet for girls.

  12. East second floor In the east building there are: four class rooms (1°D, 2°B, 3°B, 3°D), the school library and two toilets.

  13. Garden The garden of our school is very big and clean. All classes come together for a snack at 10:50. Our garden has some very tall trees.

The back of the school ...... with its equipment The school in addition to the two gyms in the back is equipped with a small "running track" (even if it is not oval but straight) that measures approximately 200m between go and return, a pit for the high jump (freshly made since a short time) and a volleyball court. Also we can use the stadium field Barison which is located just next to the school for gym classes in the warmer seasons.

The school timetable School starts at 7.55 a.m. and ends at 0:55 p.m. the lessons are divided differently: first hour: from 7:55 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. second hour: from 8:55 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. third hour: from 9:55 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. break: the from 10.50 at 11:05 a.m. fourth time: from 11:05 a.m. to 00:00 p.m. fifth hour: from 00.00 p.m. to 0:55 p.m. This is the middle school schedule Lorenzo Da Ponte. Our school has got a lot of important rules for example: 1- we mustn’t eat or chew gum in class, 2- we must stand up when the teacher is coming in, 3- we mustn’t use our mobile phone during the lessons, 4- we mustn’t run in the corridor…

  16. The school ...... with all of its projects .... The school has many projects sporting, musical and disciplinary . Among the many projects we can find exchanges with foreign schools like what happens with schools in Australia, the virtual class that aims to improve students’ English and have fun, the English Camp an activity that takes place in summer before the beginning of the school or the theatre in English, which is organized twice a year. This theatre is organized in the afternoon and lasts a few hours. Beside these language projects, the school organizes the third class educational trips such as those in France, England and Malta. The school adheres to the national maths competition called Kangourou.

  17. You can also take the course of robotics created for the second class, of instrument (drums, guitar, flute or piano) or have afternoon classes in different subjects. These are all extra-curricular activities that a student can decide whether or not to join. Among school activities we can find the Comenius project or the participation of certain classes to national competitions. In short, this school is full of many educational projects that help the students learn and have fun.
