  3. Poseidon Brother of Zeus and Hades. Lord of the Sea. Wields the trident and made the first horse. God of sea, rivers, floods, earthquakes.

  4. Hades Brother of Zeus and Poseidon. Lord of the underworld, King of the Dead. Hates his brothers for giving him rule over the dead. Invisible helmet.

  5. Hestia Sister of Zeus, Poseidon, & Hades. Goddess of the hearth, home and cooking. She had no throne, but tended the sacred fire in the hall on the Olympus.

  6. Hera Wife and sister of Zeus. Protector of marriage, faithful. The Peacock and Cow are hersacred animals Always jealous of Zeus affairs.

  7. Ares Son of Zeus and Hera. God of War. Favored the Trojans during the Trojan War. Often has affairs with Aphrodite.

  8. Athena Goddess of wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill. Favorite child of Zeus. Her usual attribute is the owl

  9. Apollo The twin brother of Artemis. Apollo was the god of music, prophecy, colonization, medicine, and archery. Drives the his sun-chariot across the sky for daylight.

  10. Aphrodite • Goddess of Love and Beauty. • Born from sea foam. • Most beautiful. • Married to Hephaestus, but not faithful to him.

  11. Hermes • Son of Zeus and Maia. • Messenger to the Gods. • God of travel, thievery, travel, writing, and athletics. • Known for his winged sandals.

  12. Artemis • Apollo’s twin. • Virgin goddess of the hunt. • Associated with wild animals and fertility. • Bow, deer, and wild boar are attributed with her.

  13. Hephaestus • God of fire, metalworking, masonry, and volcanism. • Smith of the gods. • Crippled • Symbols: Hammer, Donkey, tongs, and anvil.
