  2. Overview • Current status of MIDCOM mib development • Analysis of existing mib • Way Forward

  3. Where are we? • Fairly quiet on the list: • General consensus as to the applicability/reusability of NAT mib. • Query to WG on feedback on applicability of IPsec Policy configuration mib. • Status of analysis and documentation • Plethora of mibs in related problem domains to choose from to determine reusability. • Progress is underway…draft document proposing a data decomposition and overview of existing mib applicability will be submitted next week.

  4. Applicability of Existing MIBs • A plethora of MIBs are available: • Security: as defined for SNMPv3 • Configuration: NAT-MIB, IPSec MIB, DIFFSERV-MIB • Policy Coordination: POLICY-BASED-MANAGEMENT-MIB • Policy Specification: POLICY-BASED-MANAGEMENT-MIB, DIFFSERV-CONFIG-MIB, IPSEC-POLICY-MIB • Task is to determine which of the existing MIB modules (or parts thereof) meet the MIDCOM requirements, framework and semantics. • Design team (with the help of the WG) need to continue dissecting and apply to MIDCOM.
