  3. GENERAL INFORMATION • State Law and UIL Rules Prohibit Any Athlete From Participating Without a Physical. • All AISD & UIL Paperwork Must be Completed Prior to Participation • Any child who does not have this paperwork completed by the start of practices cannot participate.

  4. GRADING POLICY • The U.I.L. requires a student to pass every course in order to be eligible. • If a student fails a class for the six weeks, that student is INELIGIBLE to participate in games for at least three weeks. • If a student has ALL passing grades on his next progress report, he regains eligibility. • Ineligible students are still required to practice. • At Boles, a student may be removed from athletics if they fail 2 or more classes in 2 consecutive 6 weeks.

  5. GENERAL INFORMATION • AISD Policy Establishes that Jr. High Programs are Part of a Six Year Program. • Junior High Programs Teach Terminology and Systems that Mirror the High Schools They Feed. • We teach Martin High School schemes and techniques in all sports at Boles.

  6. GENERAL INFORMATION • Athletes practice in our Boles Athletics shirt/shorts. • We will issue sweats after the teams are set. • You must provide shoes. Please get running shoes. • Athletes compete in Boles in our Boles shorts and in our Cross Country Team Shirt.

  7. GENERAL INFORMATION • If your child is going to miss practice, the parent MUST notify Coach Wilkins by phone 682-867-8069, or Coach Poole 682-867-8048 or email: dwilkins@aisd.net, mpoole@aisd.net that day or prior. • If communicating by email, place ATTENDANCE in subject line. • Unexcused absences will result in disciplinary action and/or removal from team.

  8. GENERAL INFORMATION • Athletes that have prescription inhalers may bring them to athletics. • They must have the proper documentation on file with the school nurse. • Inhalers must have child’s name on them. • We provide a place for them on the field. • Athletes need to pick them up after each practice.

  9. GENERAL INFORMATION • Practices are closed. Cross country parents can watch from behind the fence. • Parents are not allowed on the race course during contests. • Cell phone policy is in effect during school hours. • If athletes lose equipment, you must pay for it. They must use their lockers!

  10. TICKET PRICES • Admission is ONLY charged at the City Meet. • $2.00 Adults • $1.00 Students • Season Passes $25.00. Good for access to all JUNIOR HIGH games excluding tournaments and playoffs. • AISD Employees and their spouses/children get in free.

  11. West Nile Virus • Please be alert to its symptoms. • If you or your child have symptoms that include stiff neck, high fever, or severe headache, contact your health-care provider immediately. • Our coaching staff cannot apply insect repellants to children. • Parents may apply repellants when appropriate.

  12. There is one Girls A Team and one Girls B Team. • There is one Boys A Team and one Boys B Team. • A teams have 10 runners. B teams have no limit on numbers of runners. • Team placement decided by coaches upon evaluation of practices and meet times. 7th Grade Cross Country

  13. 7th Grade Cross Country • After school practices begin on January 22nd. • Practices are conducted during after school. • Athletes need to be picked up after practice at 5:00 pm.

  14. 7th Grade Cross Country B B • Meets are mostly on Tuesdays with the exception of one Thursday meet. • Athletes are not allowed to leave campus after school on meet days. • Food – Keep it Light!!! • Please bring food to the cafeteria prior to 3:45 PM. (name on food) • 7th grade athletes are to come by the front office after 7th period to pick up their food on their way to the locker room.

  15. 7th Grade Cross Country B B • Athletes must be picked up within 30 minutes of return to school after meets.. • Athletes may be picked up by and taken home from meets by their parent/guardian only. • Parents/guardians MUST sign their children out at the meet. • Athletes may also ride the bus home after meets.

  16. 7th Grade Cross Country Major Changes for 2013 B B The one major change for 2013 is that the 7th grade cross country races will be 1.5 miles in length. It has been one mile in past years.

  21. 8th Grade Cross Country B B • Athletes must be picked up within 30 minutes of return to school after games. • Athletes must ride the bus to and from games. • Thursdays are study hall days. • After the first two weeks of school, your child will ride the bus home after school or need to be picked up no later than 3:15 pm in front of the school unless staying for game film.

  22. 8th Grade Cross Country Major Changes for 2013 B B The one major change for 2013 is that the 8th grade cross country races will be 2 miles in length. It has been 1.5 miles in past years.
