  1. Re-pitching to Matt & Development of Our Idea

  2. Feedback that Matt gave us Will 70s setting be too hard to create? • We realised that a 70's setting will be difficult to create, so we came up with the idea that it would be a more modern kitchen but our character will have 70's vibes. We also changed the setting from the killers kitchen to the victim's kitchen. This will be a lot easier to pull off and make more effective. Thinking about 70s appliances such as: • A kitchen stove • Bloody knives • Kettle Could you move the room so it is a blank more general room instead? • Yes we could achieve this and it will most likely be a lot easier to film and create. Could you modernise it and have it set more modern day? • Yes we can do this. This will also be easier to film since the majority of people these days have more modernized kitchens.

  3. Feedback - Continued Does it make sense that the police are coming to the killer's place? • We decided that it would make more sense and be more effective if we used the victim’s house instead as this is how most horror films begin. We also thought that the killer could be clearing the victim’s house and there could be a dead body in the house which gives more of an effect and it would make it look like the killer is cleaning up after he’s just committed a crime. Although we changed the majority of our idea such as the set, we could still have the cross cutting between police knocking but this time the police are trying to warn the victim she is in danger however the killer beat them to it and is in the house when they arrive.

  4. Films where the killer is calm, collected, and very organised

  5. What did he think of our idea? He said that he liked our idea and thought that it was really cool in a good way even though our idea is very creepy and potentially gruesome. He did give us some other ideas as he thought that some of our original ideas were going to be a bit difficult to either film or make it look good. So we went away and had a good think about it and we came up with an improved idea using Matt’s feedback.

  6. What sort of things did he suggest to you? He suggested that the 70’s retro kitchen would be very difficult to find and film in as most kitchens these days are modern. Also, he thought that it didn’t make much sense if the police came to his apartment as it’s an opening sequence; it made more sense that they went to a victim’s house to warn them that they’re in danger. Finally, he thought that it would be a bad idea if the killer was caught in the first two minutes as it would ruin the story and besides it would be more effective if the killer wasn’t easy to catch and if he was sneaky and clever.

  7. What do we need to think about a bit more? One thing that we need to think about is the location/setting of our film. Our original idea of the 70’s retro kitchen wouldn’t work well as it would be difficult to find and film in one. Also, we changed from the opening sequence being filmed in the killers kitchen to the victim’s kitchen as it’s more common in horror films to start in the victim’s kitchen. Another thing that we had to change is what we were going to do about the police. Originally we planned to have the police in a car but we realised that it would be too complicated to find a police car. So we came up with a different idea, with Matt’s help, to have the police knocking on the door of the victim’s house with Chase on the other side of the door. However, we’re still going to keep the cross cutting between the police and Chase.
