  1. PEACE Luke 2:12 – 14

  2. PEACE Luke 2:12 – 14

  3. “While the emperor may give peace from war on land and sea, he is unable to give peace from passion, grief and envy. He cannot give peace of heart, for which man yearns more than even for outward peace”. Epictetus

  4. The “object of your pleasure” is the person or thing that gives you pleasure to SERVE!

  5. I – It Pleased God TO SENDHISSON! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.” John 3:16 – 17

  6. I – It Pleased God TO SENDHISSON! “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our peace fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

  7. I – It Pleased God TO SENDHISSON! “But the Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.” Isaiah 53:10

  8. I – It Pleased God TO SENDHISSON! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

  9. II – It Pleased Christ TO TAKEOURSINS! Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

  10. II – It Pleased Christ TO TAKEOURSINS!

  11. “Give Glory to God in the highest, Whose pleasure has been to provide for men on earth the availability of peace with God, and to live in the peace of God, by sending His Son; the One I’ve just told you that you would find wrapped in cloths and laying in a manger”. Luke 2:12 – 14

  12. What the Angel was NOT saying… 1 – That peace had come to Earth! 2 – That peace would come in the future! “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

  13. “The gospel is not something which we add to our lives, it is rather, something which should entirely dominate them...The Christian life, therefore, is not merely a modification of the natural life, it is a new life, and Christians do not merely add something to their lives, they are people who have been changed at the center, they are entirely different.”

  14. “…we must realize that there is no need to denounce people who are not living the holy life. The New Testament seems to be sorry for them. There is no need to denounce Christians who are not doing their utmost to live the Christian life, because, poor things, they are suffering enough as it is. They are missing the greatest thing the gospel has to give.”

  15. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid! John 14:27

  16. May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20 – 21
