  2. What is U.S. Current Investment in Wind Power? • The US is still new to wind power idea. Although they have made progress in it, they haven't fully devoted to the idea. • The US in 2009 put in 10,000 megawatts worth of wind power, but have yet to use it. • Nearly $2 billion has been invested by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act by President Obama. Most of that $2 billion has gone to foreign makers of wind turbines. • $45 billion has been the investment since the 1980’s.

  3. What are the Latest Scientific Advancements on Wind Power? • In 2008 the advancements in wind power were due to taller towers and large rotors, advanced project siting and technological advancements that are not specified.

  4. How and where is the US generating wind power? • Thousands of homeowners across the country are using a Bergey wind turbine to drastically cut their electric bills. • At the end of 2010, the installed capacity of wind power in the United States was just over 40,000 megawatts (MW),making it second in the world behind China. Wind power accounts for about 3% of the electricity generated in the United States.

  5. How much (%) electricity is currently being generated by wind power in the US? • 3% throughout the US.

  6. Why is wind power better than each of the other alternative energy sources at generating electricity? • Its free and efficient most the time when the weather is right. • Wind is a natural power that the earth creates. • Wind isn't harmful to the planet because it doesn’t leave any fumes in the air. • Also it is one of the cheapest forms of energy available. • Never Ending!

  7. VS VS VS

  8. Why do you think the US should invest in wind power? • 0 emissions • Free once its installed • Renewable • Creates new jobs • Quick Installation( 6 months to a year)

  9. What is UK Current Investment in Wind Power? • It is said that the UK has invested £80-100 billion over the next 10-15 years.

  10. How and Where is the UK Using Wind to Generate Electricity? • The first wind farms in the UK were built onshore. • They currently generate more power than the offshore farms. • Their first wind farm was at Delabole in Cornwall, which had 10 wind turbines.

  11. How much (%) electricity is currently being generated by wind power in the UK? • 2.5% is generated by wind power.

  13. Why do you think the UK should invest in wind power? • 0 emissions • Free once its installed • Renewable • Creates new jobs • Quick Installation
