  2. 2010 Early Retirement Incentives • Statewide 4,755 Workers Retired by 12-31-10 • Pre-Retirement 52,000 Workers Statewide • In 2000, There were 60,000 State Workers • Many Vacancies will Not be filled • $180 Million State Worker Concessions Requested

  3. BHS Staffing • 60 Vacancies since 10-1-10 (27%) • Vacancies due to Early Retirements, Promotions, and Attrition • Filled 36 Positions • 1 Pending Offer • 23 Current Vacancies • Approximately 1 Year HCS Independence

  4. Health Systems • Key Accomplishments • Reduced nursing home complaint backlog 99% since beginning of FY09 from 22 months (882 open intakes) to < 1 month (8 late intakes currently.)

  6. Total Number of Surveys Conducted Long Term Care – Standard Health Surveys Source: CASPER 1/3/2011 The number of LTC standard surveys in FY 2010 has decreased in four of six states in Region V. However, Michigan standard surveys held steady for the year. The number of completed standard surveys in Michigan for FY10 is 38% higher than FY07.
