  3. What is Stress? • The process by which your body responds to changes in the environment • Includes a combination of responses: • Emotional • Mental • Physical • Signs of stress?

  4. Signs of Stress Conflict in relationships Inability to concentrate Becoming less active A short temper Sudden changes in appetite Irritability

  5. Activity • Split into small groups of 3 or 4 group members • Write down 1 or 2 ways that you manage stress • Please share with your group members

  8. What is Anxiety? • An emotional state characterized by feelings of: • apprehension • nervousness • fear

  9. Common Forms • GAD-dread of everyday situations • OCD-repetitive, unwanted thoughts • PTSD-intense fear after trauma is over
