  1. Not like a bunk bed which boasts one bed over another, a loft bed is a bed that only has the top bunk, which leaves an open space below. A loft bed is perfect for small rooms that sleep multiple persons. In fact, many college dorms provide lofted beds for college students to offer additional storage below which maximizes the space in the small room.

  2. Perfect for shared kids rooms: Well, loft beds are ideal for kids’ bedrooms that possess double occupancy. With the bed lofted up top, the area beneath becomes a retreat for the bed owner. The flooring can be lined with blankets and pillows to make a special space for reading or playing with toys. For your girl’s room, you can dress fabrics to make a “princess” area where she can play with her dolls & stuffed animals and also invite her friends to have fun. For your boy’s room, you can turn the space into an area to make buildings with building blocks or racetracks for Matchbox cars. Or you can hang fabric & other embellishing stuffs to turn the area into a “pirate ship.” The possibilities are really eternal. The best thing about a loft bed is that it produces a designated area especially for one kid. This can come handy especially in cases where the bedroom is shared with other siblings.

  3. Free up some space: Rather than transforming the area under the bed into a play area, you can use the space for storage purpose. Dressers & chests of drawers fit perfectly under a loft bed & so does bookcases and toy boxes. Moving these stuffs under the bed frees up more space in the room which can be utilized as an open play space, or to host more than one sleeping bags during slumber parties. In addition, you can put a futon beneath which can be employed as a sitting space, and then double as a guest bed.

  4. Transitions as your kid get older: Once you invest on a loft bed, you certainly can relax knowing that as your kid grows, the bed can transition with them. Placing a bookcase under the bed alongside a desk & a computer can transform the bed into a study corner. Moreover, with a loft bed, your kid can detach their work area from their sleeping space.
